Finally made it to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Our first day at Osaka couldn’t get any better than this. Especially when you get to experience a childhood film you’d never thought you’d see up close. So much love for Day 1!
We all agreed to spend our first full day in Osaka at Universal Studios Japan because I can’t stop thinking about it. The kid in me just wants to stroll around one of the best theme parks there is.
Imagine the excitement of seeing this after an hour ride from our hotel in Shinsaibashi. Almost there!
And finally setting foot at USJ felt surreal. I can’t stop smiling.
When we got there, we had to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter first (Yes, it’s a must!). Upon entering and walking through the Forbidden Forest, I heard the music of Harry Potter and it gave me chills. I can’t believe I was heading to a childhood dream. Then, we saw the Weasley’s flying car first!
Here we are at Hogsmeade! It was sooooo perfect, walking past through Zonko’s, Olivander’s, Honeyduke’s, the Owlery, the Hogwart’s Express. It was more delighting to see tourists in house robes and wands in their hands. I, too, wore a Gryffindor scarf (even if I’m a Ravenclaw) because why not. My dad also got me a chocolate frog and my chocolate heart was happy. What’s even more amazing is that you can try wand magic! There are several areas in the park where you can cast spells and put your wizarding skills to use. How cool was that!
You can’t leave without trying the famous butterbeer! I ordered the hot butterbeer because it was winter season but I also tried the cold one and it was equally as good. Sorry that I can’t exactly describe how it tasted. All I know is that my dimples were a testament to how good it was.
Say hello to Hogwarts in its majestic form. It was so breathtaking. We even went back at around 6PM to see how it looks at night. Stunning! Inside, we saw the sorting hat and the moving paintings which looked so real! The castle also houses the top attraction of the park, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey in 4k3D. It was the most impressive simulator ride I ever had!
Basically, I had the best day of my life and we weren’t even halfway through the day. I was smiling the whole time and couldn’t believe my eyes. I was really happy.
After the whole HP experience, we watched the action in Waterworld. We did not understand all the talking because it was in Japanese but we definitely enjoyed the stunts. Sadly, the Jurassic Park was closed. We also tried the Spiderman Ride in 4k3D and had a blast. Here’s a proof from the Daily Bugle.
We did more walking and a whole lot of eating. Savoring the streets of USJ.
We even got the chance to see the parade and join in the fun before we called it a day!
Loved this day too much. It was an experience of a lifetime and I have my parents to thank for it.
